MEET THE TEAM

A Legacy of Thoughtful Stewardship

team animation

Our team lives for one purpose: to protect and grow the wealth families have spent careers and generations building. Seasoned investors, former operators, and second-generation leaders work side-by-side—personally designing, managing, and safeguarding every portfolio with the same discipline and care we apply to our own legacies.

The collective histories and proven expertise of our team are Concorde’s greatest asset—delivering the depth of knowledge, discipline, and personal stewardship that multi-generational families rely on.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Gary B. Wood, Ph.D.

Gary is the founder and Managing Director of Concorde Investment Management Companies, with over 40 years of experience in asset management, private capital, and venture capital, across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. As Chairman of the firm’s Investment Policy Committees, he helps set the strategic and philosophical direction for portfolios that serve multi-generational families, foundations, and institutions. A sixth-generation Texan with an engineering-trained mind (BSEE and MSEE from Texas Tech University), Gary earned one of the university’s only interdisciplinary doctorates, blending law, business, systems engineering and statistics—a combination that informs Concorde’s evidence-based approach to investing. Prior to establishing Concorde in Dallas in 1981, he developed a reputation as a portfolio manager while overseeing high-net-worth assets at an independent Houston trust company, providing risk-adjusted performance in an era dominated by commission-driven advice.

Beyond traditional markets, Gary has led direct investments, served as board member or advisor for enterprises in healthcare, medical technology, energy, information technology, applied AI  and manufacturing, including co-founding International Hospital Corporation in 1991. His civic leadership includes board service with Parkland Health & Hospital System, the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (endowment Investment committee), Baylor University Medical Center Research Institute Board, Society of International Business fellows (twice chairman), Sound Support Foundation (chairman) and founding chairmanship of the Health Industry Council of North Texas. Recognized as a Distinguished Engineer Alumnus by Texas Tech, Gary believes that wealth management is measured in decades and legacies—not quarters. He and his wife Sheryl are the proud parents of four grown children and grandparents to six.
